Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed Be Your NameA song sung by Matt Redman, a prominent British worship leader. There are many versions of this song, of which my favourite is the one by Tree 63. The first video is the song itself, and the second is the instructional. Tabs are below.

  2. It is indeed a beautiful song. Thanks for the teaching.

To play along the orignal song by Matt Redman) I think you have to use capo 2.

  5. Hey Spencer, I guess the part you're talking about is the chord change from F#m, E, D. Actually, how to play it is explained in the instructional video. But simply, it's just strumming downstrokes

  7. Hi Graham!

I don't understand how you do the f#m, it doesn't look like my chordcharts that I have. Please help me because I would really like to know

  8. Hey Andreas, yeah the F#m played in the video is not conventional, but it still sounds similar to the standard F#m.
If you're unfamiliar with it, you can play the standard F#m. Otherwise, the tabs are given for the chord. It's like an inverse B pattern.

  13. Hi Graham,

I'm trying to learn this song directly from your instructional video. By watching you play the song, it seems like the strumming pattern changes when you stop muting the sound with your palm and you play at regular volume. Is the strumming pattern still DDD DDD DD? I haven't been able to make the pre-chorus sound similar using that strumming pattern. Sorry for the newbie question. This is the first praise song I'm learning to play in full.

  14. Hey Andy, you can follow the PDF that I created for the lyrics and strumming pattern.
For the pre-chorus, it's still the same strumming pattern as the verse, but with less or no palm muting.
Take note of the accents at the start and after the spaces:
    Ddd Ddd Dd

    Hope that helps! God bless.
