Desert Song

Desert SongA worship song by Hillsong, written by Brooke Fraser. I heard from an interview with Jill McCloghry, another Hillsong worship leader, that the song ministered to the depths of her heart when her baby boy did not pull through due to various complications. Although that was the darkest point in her life, she still put her trust in God, because He is still God, and deserves our worship no matter what circumstances we go through.

Job in the Bible experienced a similar situation, when he was afflicted with much pain and sorrow through various circumstances, because Satan wanted to test his loyalty to God. In Job 1:20-22, we see that Job did not curse God on account of all the mishaps that he was going through. Instead, he understood that we come into this world with nothing, and shall leave with nothing as well. But in all this, God will and should be praised. And we learn that he did not commit any sin because of this attitude he had. Oh may God help us through our "desert" moments, to praise Him because He is still God, and because He has given us victory over sin in Christ.

Are you sure this is by Jill McCloghry? I have a songbook with this in that says it's by Brooke Fraser.

Hey ianw, thanks for pointing that out. I think I assumed that she wrote it because of her testimony and how the song ministered to her.
Will change it to Brooke Fraser :)

I just wanted to encourage you to keep doing what your doing. If you were not diligent in your efforts to post these chords,I , along with others, would not have them to learn. I think about how laborious is seems just to pick out songs to play...then I considered the time it takes to do what you do. Bless you and to Him be the glory

Hi Graham, Just wanted to say thanks so much for all the effort you put into your videos and instructionals. I've been following your blog and vidoes for a few years now. They're such a blessing, I haven't found help like this anywhere else. God bless you, keep up the good work for His glory!!! :) Emily.

Hi Graham/Daniel, keep up all these good works... I've just picked up guitar beginning of last year to lead worship in our home fellowship... not because of your instructional videos, I would not have make it till now... Praise the Lord.. I believe both your efforts have helped many more... God bless!
