You Laid Aside Your Majesty

A worship song by Noel Richards. In Philippians 2:3-11, Paul writes to the church in Philippi to in humility, consider others better than themselves, and to look out their interests, and not just their own. And he gives the ultimate example of Jesus Christ, who considered the world's interest above His own, being in very nature God, but coming down in the form of man and humbling himself in obedience to death on the cross for our sake. And so God has exalted Him above all names, and put the earth under His rule, that all will confess that He is Lord, to God's glory.

The lyrics of the song aptly sums up what Paul wrote in the above, and shows us a way in which we can respond to Christ's rule over all things - to worship Him, to serve Him with our lives, to love Him, and to lift our voices to Him in adoration. Let us confess that Jesus is Lord!
