The Solid Rock

A classic Christian hymn by Edward Mote. The lyrics speak of Christ being the solid Rock that we stand on - in whom our hope is built on, for He has saved us with His blood and made us righteous before God, and brought us through our many trials. In 1 Peter 2:6-8, Peter writes that those who believe in Jesus as the Cornerstone will not be put to shame, but those who don't will stumble.

Indeed Jesus is the foundation which our faith rests entirely on. And we know we can place our trust in Him as our solid Rock because He is faithful, dependable, and true to His word. What He has said, He will do. And He has promised that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. Stand on Christ our solid Rock!
