At The Foot Of The Cross

At The Foot Of The Cross (Ashes To Beauty)A worship song by Kathryn Scott. In Isaiah 61:1-3, the prophet Isaiah says, "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah proclaims a prophecy of the one who is to come, Christ, who will accomplish the redemption of man through his death on the cross for us. He is the Comforter to the humble in spirit, for those who are willing to lay their burdens and lives down in submission to Him. It is what Christ has done on the cross for us that we can rejoice and be made righteous in God's sight. Thank you for the cross Lord Jesus.

Wow David. I absolutely love this song. And you do a GREAT job at it! Seeing your heart for our heavenly Father is very encouraging. Keep it up. :) Do you mind if I ask where you are from? I have met several exchange students at my college that are from South Korea. God has truly blessed me with their friendship and encouraging faith that comes from the other side of the world! The best way to contact me is at jessica.moore@okstate.edu Look forward to hearing back from you! Be blessed.
