Here In Your Presence

Here In Your PresenceA worship song by Desperation Band. In Psalm 16, David wrote about how he sought refuge in God (v. 1), probably at a time when King Saul was looking to kill him. Having God as his god, his fears of falling into the hands of Saul was wiped away, because he knew that God would not abandon (v. 10) those who fear Him (v. 8). He understood that he had no good thing to offer apart from God (v. 2). He understood that there was joy to be found in God's presence (v. 11).

Here in Your presence, there is fullness of joy because we know that "If God is for us, who can be against us" (Romans 8:28). He has saved us entirely by His grace and love through Jesus' sacrifice, and not by any works of man. God has not abandoned us, but in fact has brought us into His presence through that ultimate sacrifice. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Rejoice, but fear as well, for in God's presence, we are both loved and judged.
