One Desire

One DesireA worship song by Hillsong. Talks about our desire to be with God. Paul was an excellent example of someone who desired to be with God. In Philippians 1:22-23, Paul says, "If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;" Paul had a dilemma. He was currently imprisoned for Christ's sake. He was suffering for Christ and desired to be with Him, but he also knew that the gospel message was something worth suffering for.

Paul desired to be with God, and this desire made him devoted to preaching Christ. Can we live to the point where we can like Paul say, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)? Does our desire to be with God spur us even more to live for Christ?
