Unashamed

Unashamed (Beauty In The Broken Album Version)A worship song by Starfield. In 1 Timothy 1:15-16, Paul writes to encourage Timothy, "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life."

Paul, or Saul before conversion, was a zealous persecutor of the church. He considered himself the chief of all sinners. He was ruthless and sought out Christians to be put in jail. However, even he who persecuted the body of Christ was saved, on the road to Damascus, when Jesus appeared to him. Indeed, Jesus came into the world to save sinners - and that includes you and me, and everyone else. We may be the worst of sinners who live worldly lives and pursue a life of worldly pleasures, but Christ's love and salvation extends to all.

The invitation has been made - "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8b). If only we would believe and place our trust in Him, to turn from our wicked ways and follow Him in obedience, in a life anew. And I know I'm weak, I know I'm unworthy, to call upon Your name. But because of grace, because of Your mercy, I stand here unashamed. Call upon Jesus because He saves!

Hey david, the lyrics and chords will be done soon enough. I'm going through all the Christian songs on the blog alphabetically. It's currently at "T" :)

Hey Nicolette, sure! If you're playing without the capo, it'll be in the key of A. Dan's playing it in Bb in the video.
But it all depends on whether you can sing in the key you're playing in.
So if A's the right key for you, you can play without the capo :)
