Marvelous Light

A worship song by Charlie Hall. In 1 Corinthians 15:54-57, Paul writes, "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: 'Death has been swallowed up in victory.' 'Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?' The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Indeed when Christ comes again, the old will become new. Our bodies will be transformed to be like His, and death will be defeated. All sin will be judged, but rendered powerless over those who believe and have been redeemed by Christ's blood, because we no longer live under the law, but under grace (Rom. 6:14). We have victory over the penalty of sin through Christ Jesus. We have victory over sin in our lives through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, let us continue to stand firm in the faith and offer ourselves for His service (v.58).

Into marvelous light I'm running, out of darkness, out of shame. By the cross You are the truth, You are the life, You are the way!
