East To West

East To WestA worship song by Casting Crowns. In Psalm 103:8-12, we see that God is compassionate and gracious, and although His people sin time and time against Him, He will not always judge, but in fact remove their transgressions as far as the east is from the west. And it leads me to ask the question, "How can a holy God withhold His judgment from sinful man when we deserve punishment by death?"

Indeed "I can't live by what I feel, but by the Truth your Word reveals". I know I deserve punishment for my sins, but here's what the Word says about Jesus, and why it's because of Him that my sins are forgiven as far as the east is from the west.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
He redeems and justifies us from our sin, by making us righteous before God, through faith in Him. And He achieves that by becoming the sacrifice of atonement for us, satisfying God's just wrath that should have been upon us (Romans 1:22-26)

That's how a holy God could remove our sins as far as east is from the west, not because of our merit, but because of Jesus' work on the cross for us - "from one scarred hand to the other".

Hi! Our church had been practicing for a Christmas program (with a kiddie choir) and I came across your acoustic rendition of O Holy Night. I do not know which one of them was you but both were brilliant.
I was looking for instrumental accompaniments for the children's numbers and my wife was to sing O Holy Night. your version really helped us. Thank you!

Hey Choo brothers!! Thanks for playing this song guys! I really really appreciate it! Learning it right now!! Worshipping God is so awesome! Such a great privilege. =) Thanks for sharing your gift!

Anyways, I'd just want to point out a typo error on the pdf file for this song. Chorus 2's last part of Am - C/B - C. You play an Am7 - C9 instead on your videos. Just wanted to point that out... =)

God bless guys!

Hey thanks for clarifying that. I must have overlooked it, but the song still flows well anyway :)
