Nothing But The Blood

A worship song by Matt Redman. Speaks about the redeeming work of Jesus' blood for us. In Romans 4:21-25, Paul says, "But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood."

The message is simple. We are all by nature sinful beings who deserve the punishment of eternal death, or separation from God. But the blood of Christ, shed on the cross for us, has redeemed and justified us in the eyes of God. His blood has atoned for our sins and made us righteous before Him. It is not the observance of the law, but faith in Christ Jesus and the redeeming power of His blood that restores our once broken relationship with God, when Adam sinned. What can wash us pure as snow? Welcomed as the friends of God. Nothing but Your blood, nothing but Your blood King Jesus. Thank You Jesus!
