Voice Of Truth

Voice Of TruthA worship song by Casting Crowns. The lyrics speak of two famous stories in the Bible. The first, of Peter when he and the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water toward their boat. The disciples thought that He was a ghost and were afraid, but Jesus assured them it was Him. Peter then called out to Jesus and walked toward Him on the water. His faith wavered however, when he saw the wind, and he started to sink. Jesus saved him (Matthew 14:22 - 32)

The second story is of David and Goliath - of how a young Israelite defeats the giant with his sling and stone. Goliath a Philistine, defies Israel's army and mocks them and their God. David, only a young shepherd boy, stands up for God and accepts Goliath's challenge. "David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.' (1 Samuel 17:45) And he goes on to slay the giant, winning a victory in the name of God.

In both instances, faith was required - for Peter to walk on water toward Jesus (although his faith wavered), and for David who against all odds, stood up for God to defeat Goliath. God calls us to have faith in Him whatever the circumstance. Will we choose to trust in Him? I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth! It's all for your glory Lord!
