In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone (See What A Morning Album Version)A worship song by Stuart Townend. The song basically paints the picture of a Christian life and what Christ has done for us - what we believe in.

God first loved us. And His love for us does not falter, despite being sinful people. We can thus stand in the love of Christ, because nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom 8:38-39). Jesus then suffered on the cross because of His great love for us, to redeem us from our sins. He is the atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2), and we can thus stand in the death of Christ because it has brought us salvation and a new life in Him. But Christ rose again, proving that death no longer has mastery over Him (Romans 6:9). Likewise, His death has given us victory over death's sting (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). We have been bought with the precious blood of Christ.

Christ will return again one day. Until that day, the helper and counselor, the Holy Spirit , will teach and remind us of everything Christ has taught (John 14:26). Christ's death has released us from the penalty of sin, which is eternal death; separation from God. But His Holy Spirit will aid us in combating the power of living in a sinful world. Here in the power of Christ I'll stand!

Thank-you, Daniel for yourtabs and instructional videos. They have helped me master quite a few worship songs - who knew worship songs could be so hard to learn. Be encouraged and keep up the good work.

I believe 'In Christ Alone' was co-written by Stuart Townend (not Townsend) and Keith Getty, 2002.
