My Everything

A worship song written and performed by my twin brother, Daniel Choo. In Colossians 1:15-20, Paul writes about who Jesus Christ is, and what is His relation to His creation. This is the supremacy of Christ - He is God (v.15, 19), the Creator and the reason for creation (v.16), the Sustainer of the world (v. 17), the head of the church (v.18), the Saviour and our sacrifice in order to reconcile man to God (v.20).

Indeed Jesus is our everything and nothing less. He is to be glorified as supreme over all - creation was made for Him. So in everything that we do, let us remember who Christ is and how we should respond to him, as creation responding in awe and reverence to their Creator, as redeemed slaves responding in obedience and full dependency to their Master.

Wonderful Saviour

Wonderful SaviourA worship song originally written as a traditional hymn by John M. Harris, made into a contemporary tune by Andy Bromley. The lyrics speak about the wonders of finding our salvation in Christ and what that means in relation to our sin, our relationship with God, and our eternity spent with Him.

Romans 3:21-24 tells us that there is a righteousness from God that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. All of us have sinned, but have been justified freely by God's grace through Christ's sacrifice for us. What this means is that our sins have been atoned for, that we are now God's children because of Christ's righteousness, and that we shall reign with Him in eternity because of the salvation Christ has brought us. Indeed this is something that we should be praising God for, declaring that He is our wonderful Saviour.

Down To The River To Pray

The second song that we performed. Written by Alison Krauss, this song has a Negro Spiritual feel to it. The lyrics speak of how the family goes down to the river to pray, and how He is worthy of our prayers.

Indeed we pray to God because He is worthy and more than able to answer us. But what's more important is that we pray because we are wholly dependent on God to provide for our every need. Just as God looks after the sparrows and lilies in the field, how much more does he take care of our needs.

Abide With Me

Introducing the BASS (Bukit Arang Singing Sensations)! We formed the group and sung the song during our FOP (Festival Of Praise), where our church spent the night in praise and worship to God. This was our debut performance, and we hope there'll be others to come, God willing.

An old hymn written by Henry Francis Lyte in 1847, which he wrote just 3 weeks before he went to be with the Lord due to poor health. A solemn but yet comforting song, that speaks of God abiding with us, even until the day we prepare to meet with Him. Indeed the glory of Christ and the cross shines before us, and in our last days we can truly say that God has been our help in times of helplessness, the unchanging constant God who upholds and keeps us secure in our salvation. Abide with us God!
