Hiding Place

Hiding Place
A Christian contemporary song by Starfield. While we may think of God being our hiding place where we are protected from our enemies and troubles, Psalm 32 seems to give us a different definition to hiding place - A place where we acknowledge and confess our sin to God, and He forgives the guilt of our sin (Psalm 32:5).

Psalm 32 speaks of king David's spiritual state when he sinned against the Lord by committing adultery with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11:4), and sending her husband, Uriah to the front line to die, so that he could take her as his wife (2 Samuel 11:15). Such was the gravity and guilt of his sin, that king David suffered when he realised how he had sinned against God (Psalm 32:3-4).

But God is our hiding place, and in Him, there is forgiveness of sin for those who acknowledge and confess them, and believe in His Son Jesus. We have been made righteous by His blood, and that is why we can like David rejoice in the Lord and be glad, and sing to Him (Psalm 32:11). Thank you Jesus!
